Robin Hood Mini Marathon is launching a kids’ t-shirt design contest

The Robin Hood Mini Marathon is seeking entries for its annual t-shirt design contest. The winner would see their design on up to 2,000 runners as they compete in one of the nation’s largest mini-marathons on Sunday, September 25.

The winner receives a special trophy, a sample of their T-shirt and 11 free entries for them and their school to the 2023 race. The event is open to children of all abilities aged 4-17, and to be eligible for this competition, you must have participated in the Robin Hood Mini Marathon in partnership with Ikano Bank on September 25th.

Judith Manson, Race Director, said: “It’s great to see the Mini Marathon 2022 t-shirt contest open for entries, I love seeing the designs that really capture the imagination of all the kids taking part in the fun race every year.I am always amazed by the quality of the entries, which makes it difficult to shortlist every year.

Seeing the smiles on the winners’ faces when they see their creation carried by everyone on the starting line is very special. I’m so proud of this part of the race weekend, the excitement and joy of the kids and their parents – the mini marathon really adds something special to the festival vibe of the day .

The deadline for submitting t-shirt designs is May 20. After this date, the shortlisted designs will be posted on the official Robin Hood Marathon Events Facebook page, for the winner to be voted on by the public.

Standard entry to the Mini Marathon in partnership with Ikano Bank is £15, which includes the winning design t-shirt, medal and finish line goodies. Participants can walk, jog or run the course.

After the race, prizes will be awarded to the top three girls and boys, as well as school team honors awarded, in a range of categories; U7, U9, U11, U13, U15 and U17 as part of the school challenge.

All prizes will be awarded at a special presentation ceremony a few weeks after race day. A race medal will also be given to each participating runner.
