Painting of lines planned on various routes in Cumberland County

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that line painting is planned on various routes in Cumberland County.

Weather permitting, line painting will be done nightly between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on the following routes:

  • Route 15
  • Interstate 83
  • Highway 581

It will be a mobile operation. Motorists should be alert and watch for line painting equipment moving slowly on the roadway.

To avoid getting paint on your vehicle, here are some tips:

  • Stay 500 feet from our line painting equipment
  • Don’t drive over wet paint lines
  • Do not cross the trucks in the paint train
  • Please wait. The paint truck will periodically stop to allow traffic to pass.

Motorists can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. The 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras.
